Zelophedad

Zelophedad (a.k.a. The Unmaker)

Zelophedad is an Elder Numen dedicated to the divine essence of Shadow, embodying the idea of darkness itself. Carrot considers him his brother due to the closeness of their portfolios, and the two have maintained a longstanding treaty between the realms of the Shadow Plane and Night. After being rescued from his prison on Great Shadar (see The Unmaker, S7E9: "Wretches & Kings", and S7E10: "The Last Stop"), Zelophedad came to Ezorod to fulfill Carrot's duty to contain the Eshtayiv, which he helps maintain even after his brother's return.   He is worshipped as a divine force of destruction by many in the Shadari system, and as an eldritch god of shadows by the Nameless House on Golarion.

Divine Domains

Zelophedad represents the domains of Shadow and Void, and a power tied intrinsically to the nature of True Names. Given his ties to Carrot, it is fair to say that Zelophedad embraces the divine meaning of "caliginous" — a misty, obscure darkness — but without the link his "brother" possesses to Night.

Artifacts

Zelophedad is never seen without his dashing hat and cane, the former either on top of his head or held carefully in his hands, and the latter either in one hand or tucked into a long pocket on his coat. The Nameless House often associates their master with an obsidian sword, but he has not been seen wielding such a weapon in modern history.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

While theoretically capable of any form, Zelophedad prefers that of a dashing gentlemen in his middle years, dressed from head-to-toe in black formal wear from a time before the Gap. He will always manifest slightly taller than the tallest person in the room, stretching like a shadow along the wall. In the right light, some have noticed that Zelophedad's pupils are more than a darkness, and seem instead akin to the Void.

Special abilities

As darkness incarnate, Zelophedad seems capable of being anywhere there is shadow, a power eerily similar to that of the shadowmancers of House Marcus. This is especially true in Night and Ezorod, where there are more shadows than light, and a planar similarity between them and the Plane of Shadow. As seen in S9E11: "Swarming Locusts", Zelophedad is capable of stealing True Names with the owner's permission (although heavily implied he didn't need it), and could store them within himself or give them to another — as he did with the Girl Thrice-Abandoned and the Name of "Tesin Movahesh".   While not directly confirmed, Zelophedad was seen residing in a Bed of Nightshade (as he did on the Howling Mountain), and thus is likely capable of creating them.
