Personal history

Wynrey was born as "Forge Warden Miner-332" in 23 AG after the Forge came fully back online post-Gap. She was a natural-born leader, spearheading the study and exploration of both the Forge and its many portals, while Cromwell and other community guides turned their rundown planet into a home.   Very little is known about this time or the century that followed, other than that Entity made herself known on the planet and Wynrey and Cromwell married. In 138 AG, when the first expedition that would eventually form the Aspis Consortium conglomerate found the Forge, Wynrey was quick to discover their true intentions and rebel against the invaders.   In the on-and-off war that followed from 138 AG to 269 AG, Wynrey became the defacto leader of the Children of the Forge and a powerful Witchwarper capable of Skipping to Absalom Station and back. Her adventures were heroic enough to earn her entry to Valhalla (as proven in The Codex of Whispers, Part 2), and many — including Vaughn Blackblood and Valentina Terris — remember her as a skilled warrior.   In 269 AG, as part of a deal with Vaughn, Wynrey attempted to Hop but was torn away from her body and reborn as a Human on Norn. Although a spitting image of Isra by genetics, she has since cut her hair and tattooed her skin, and is otherwise differentiable by her deep purple aura (as compared to Isra's red). During the next fifty years she learned traditional witchcraft from a traveling band of sorcerer bards (introduced in The Men Who Move Like This), and discovered a way to Hop while keeping her body.   She returned in 317 AG to aid Isra during the Battle of Great Shadar, offering her some of Wynrey's own power in order to survive, and later attempted to save her life during the Phoenix Eclipse. Unfortunately, Isra misunderstood Wynrey's message (limited by both ritual and the space between Petals), and Isra died as a result. In recent events, she met up with the Dream Team at the Boneyard to right this wrong, and revitalize Isra's mortal soul.
