Season 11, Episode 3: "Merry-Go-Round of Strife" Report

General Summary

The Dream Team grabbed the key to the next door, healing up with a flurry of serums and spells before diving straight into the next chamber of the Rambling Road. They were met with the chaos of a crowd of citizens in the Arms of Absalom Station, in a full panic as six Sivv Dominion warmasters opened fire into the crowd from both sides of the walkway. While the crew's appearance at first sparked hope, this quickly devolved into more mayhem as the Sivv suddenly had a real target, and grenades started launching into the party's midst from random locations in the air.
Lockette was quick to identify the handiwork of Qwen and Dr. Oculet, now converted to whatever quantum-based technology the Sivvs were using to terrorize the station. Deciding to make themselves smaller targets, the Dream Team split up to tackle either half of the warmasters, with Abelina and Wyatt remaining in the middle to play support.
But as the grenades rained in and the very people they were trying to protect began barring their way, a sense of overwhelming dread filled the room, into which some alien presence made itself known. Rather than worming its way into the minds of its victims it played upon the fear itself, emphasizing the horror of what was happening around them, shaking the party's morale, and causing MaMa and the citizens to fall into true panic. Even as the Sivv warmasters began to fall, the crowd began to trample those too weak to stand among them, while others were pressed into the walls and crushed by the masses.
As the last warmaster was shot down, the Dream Team attempted only a cursory search of the bodies, dragging each other through the crowd towards the next doorway. They pumped themselves full of hypopens and more serums, quickly stashing new gear away to a safe place, and then dove through the next door.
They arrived at the surface of the Forge, on a platform MaMa recognized from the planetoid's liberation (see S4E4: "Heat of the Forge, Part 3"), with wildly spinning portals that opened to mystical locations across the stars. From one such portal three gray-skinned giants emerged, their eyes showing both the influence of Crow and a keen intelligence, matched by their gargantuan bodies and 20-foot longswords...
