The Pact Primeval

The Rulebook of Reality

The Pact Primeval is an agreement forged at the founding of the multiverse. The original copy of this Legendary Document hidden somewhere in Mechanus. Written within the book are the divine laws giving the multiverse its structure. It is unclear whether the things written in the book become the laws of the universe or it merely describes them. The book was written at the beginning of the universe by Primus, in conjunction with Asmodeus and Rao.

Little is known about the book itself. It is written in Modron and reading it carves the essence of the Text into the readers soul, causing psychic Damage. The text itself is incomprehensible to unprepared nortals, and no matter how many pages one turns, it is impossible to reach the end of the book. There are no page number or illustrations, only a seemingly infinite number of pages upon pages of swirling Modron Symbols, looking as if the were alive.

The pact establishes the physical laws, Magic and many things more.

Punishment & Redemption

In the pact primeval are outlined the laws governing Punishment and redemption from Mount Celestia and Hades. These laws are much too complicated to be put into human language as they were fiercely argued out by the three overdeities, but their basic results are written here:

Mortals that die, end up in the Spirit World. From there they can make their way to any spirit domain of their choosing. On their journey they can be intercepted by either Demons, Anzu or other malicious spirits but in turn Angels or other benevolent spirits may protect them.
Those spirits so wicked that they feel no remorse or regret, only spite, do not go through this journey but instead fall directly into Hades. On the other hand the most pure and benevolent souls open their eyes to see the hills of Celestia.

Mortals that died as sacrifices to demonic cults land in the first layer of hades, as do the lost souls intercepted and abducted by demons. The angels are given leave to fight for these souls and save them from the Abyss.
If a soul is dragged below into the debths of hell, the demons can claim it as one of their own, to become a demon.
However if a soul, even a demon, goes through the excruciating trials of redemption, they are granted access to Mount Celestia and the demons may not interfere. Souls successfully claimed by celestia cannot be taken by the demons, only be banished by falling from grace.
On the journey of redemption and punishment, each soul can choose. They can be tempted towards evil or guided towards good, but they always must retain the ability to choose. They can be hindered, harmed, delayed and tricked but their choice remains and with perseverence they will reach their goal.

Spirits

Main Article: Spirits & Elementals

Spirits are immortal creatures, souls of the deceased and other collections of powers and memories. They serve as inhabitants, record-keepers, troops and a sort of circulatory system, almost. They also serve as the building blocks of the multiverse in many ways, and as a regulatory mechanism and a response to infection.

Divinity

Main Article: Divinity

Divine Beings are simply speaking, more powerful spirits. They are creatures that have accumulated a sufficient amount of power and have become integrated into the fabric of the universe in a variety of ways. They are a core foundation on which the brass realm functions, and they serve as "anchors" for the stability of the universe. They, inevitably, build a domain and defend it. And while they may bicker and fight among each-other, such behavior is beneficial to refining them and their troops and when it counts, they will be ready and able to aid in the oblivion war.
Isolation: However gods are expected to uphold the isolation of the mortal realms. If they establish themselves on a world, they are not allowed to spread their domain to other worlds using their mortal followers. They may appear on other realms and begin a new following there, but they are not allowed to make use of already 'conquered' realms to establish themselves further.
This is so that the mortal species can spread and unify at their own pace and reach their potential without risking a war-mongering deity ending up as the theocrat of the species due to sheer inertia.
Resurrection: Resurrection of deaceased mortals is possible to deities, but is heavily frowned upon. It should be done sparingly, or the deity in question will have to justify their actions to the demiurge.

Realms

Main Article: Worlds and Realms. The Dance Of The Planes.

Realms serve as distributed territory, and are made in such a way that many of them can be lost without threatening the integrity of the wider Universe.
They serve multiple uses, including: keeping up the balance of the elements, keeping chaos in check and serving as a primary generation point for powerful mortal souls.
Planes can be designed for nearly any purpose however, and are thus very malleable. If a plane becomes corrupted or no longer useful, it will be decomissioned and its energy reclaimed in Sedulon.

The Crystal Sphere

Main Articles: The Crystal Sphere, The Oblivion War.

The pact primeval sets the expectation to the various deities of the multiverse, including Rao and Asmodeus. It regulates how many soldiers a deity must offer up to the war-effort. These troops are then sent to defend the multiverse. The crystal sphere is also defended by the Mechanoids, but their main duty is repairing the sphere and ensuring its continued operation.
