Vosk Sandstorm

Chieftain Vosk Sandstorm

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Vosk took over as Chieftain of The Sandstorm Clan after Chieftain Gutt Sandstorm resigned in -60 BU. Vosk was thought to be some sort of a nerd, with his nose always in a book. He was very intelligent and enjoyed trying to decipher the books that were discovered on shipwrecks. He had an entire collection of water damaged books that were found along the shores of Grel in his office.

Vosk was fast speaker, it was like his mouth was racing trying to keep up with the thoughts in his head. He would often go on ramblings, speaking his thoughts out loud, leaving those around him confused. Vosk did not like how close their capital was to Bronzefoot territory. True, they were completely underground, but if anyone were to discover them they could wipe out their capital. He sent a team explores to explore the eastern section of Sandstorm territory. There, they found a nice plot of land on the eastern shores. Vosk quickly established Gipzok. He took what he learned from the Nightstars and had a portion of the village built under ground with the main part of the village being underground. Once the village was completed, he official named it capital of The Sandstorm Clan

Vosk is also responsible for the creation of the Iron Thunder. A miniature version of a cannon that can be held by one person. It did require two hands to hold, but if one was careful not to put too much black sand in it, it could be fired by one person.

The spies that were working for the Sandstorm Clan informed Vosk that Chieftain Nork Blackfoot was looking for him. His spies told him that he had met with the Nightstars and discovered that the Sandstorm had separated from them. Vosk told his spies to try to see what Nork wanted with him before taking any action. They returned messages to him stating that Nork was wishing to unify the clans. Vosk was shocked at this and began to focus all his thoughts on this. Really, uniting all the clans? The more he thought about it, the more he realized that unity was really the only way to survive. If the fighting continued, then eventually they would wipe themselves out, or the numbers would be so dwindled that unity would be the only option. He told his spies to drop some clues that pointed to Eetzu and that he would meet Nork there. He did not want to risk exposing his spies, or the Iron Thunder, so his spies drew up rough copies of a map with Eetzu marked on it and then dropped it on a route for one of the defense patrols.

The map was quickly taken to Chieftain Nork Blackfoot and he started to make his way towards Eetzu. Once he arrived, he saw Vosk waiting for him on the bank of Thaltz River. When Nork arrived, Vosk waved him over and offered him and his men food and drink. Nork looked around at the empty desert by the river and looked back to Vosk, "I was under the impression there was a village here." Vosk nodded, "Yes, yes. I heard you were looking for us so I left something for you to find to bring you here. As you are aware, the safety of my people is my main concern. We do not wish to cause trouble with any clans and just want to live in our territory." Nork nodded, "I see. So it was you who left the map?" Vosk tilted his head from side to side, "Yes and no, but what did you want to see me for?"

Nork told him that he was wishing to unite all the clans together under one banner. He wanted to finally put an end to all of the conflict. Vosk, having already thought about this for weeks, quickly replied, "You have my support under one condition. Sandstorm territory will remain hidden until two years after unification. This is to ensure the safety of my people in the event the unification fails." Nork responded, "I see, the unification will require faith from all Chieftains and clans to work. Keeping your borders closed could be seen as you not taking part." Vosk replied, "I hope the unification will work, I truly do. Nork, you are attempting to change a century of instilled hate and battle lust. People won't change just because a paper is signed. Therefore, I will support, but I must request that my clans location remain a secret. I will meet where ever you wish, when ever, but I must ensure my people are protected in case this doesn't work out."

It wasn't what Nork wanted to hear, but he understood where Vosk was coming from. He agreed to Vosks request and informed him to meet him in Ishtaden in a month to meet with the other Chieftains. Vosk agreed.

Vosk traveled to Ishtaden to meet with the other Chieftains and helped come up with a solution to unify everyone. He apologized for the split to Umzi Nightstar, and told him that the split had nothing to do with the Nightstar clan personally. He told him that it had more to do with Tok Nightstar than anything else. Umzi accepted the apology and the two clans settled their differences.
