Deephearth Refuge
Deephearth Refuge is a fortified sanctuary concealed within a natural rock formation in Brackenbridge. Shielded by dense thickets and veiled in perpetual mist, it serves as a gathering place for The Brackenbridge Collective and other fugitives seeking respite from the relentless grip of Awarth. This secluded haven is a testament to resilience, where survivors and wanderers forge fragile alliances to withstand the challenges of the tainted land. The Refuge is both a stronghold and a symbol of the collective’s defiance against Awarth’s encroachments.
Purpose / Function
Deephearth Refuge serves as a secretive meeting point and safe haven for the Brackenbridge Collective. Hidden from plain sight, it is a stronghold of independence and mutual aid, where plans are made, supplies are stockpiled, and the weary find brief solace amidst the chaos of The Blasted Isles.
Alterations
Over time, the Refuge has expanded, with makeshift workshops for crafting tools and repairing equipment added to its depths. A central council chamber now exists for deliberations, lit by eerie greenish light from luminescent gree-infused crystals scavenged from The Boil.
Architecture
The Refuge blends naturally into the surrounding landscape, with structures carved directly into the stone and brambles.
Defenses
The natural rock outcropping is the Refuge’s first line of defense, offering limited visibility and a single, defensible entrance. Hidden traps and bramble-covered spike pits deter intruders.
