Marik Feldren
Duke of Seaton
Marik Feldren inherited the title of Duke of Seaton from his brother, Obertus Feldren. The affable Imperial war hero's rule had been short-lived, having fallen ill and dying within a year of taking up the post. So, the title fell to Marik.
The inheritance was approved by Emperor Vilihame Jehen, and Marik has now ruled the town for a decade or so.
The Duke has shown a strong desire to enlarge the local docks and naval fleet, turning the town into a more fortified settlement, and he charges high taxes to local traders to fund this expansion.
It is no secret that Marik considers the inhabitants of the Western Commonlands with disdain, and presses to have them brought under the sway of Imperial security and education, for their own good.
It is said that he further believes that his brother, who had a genuine fondness for the local fishers and traders, was laid low by traitors in service to the Hold of the Sea Princes.
Appearance and Mannersisms
Tall and lithe, Duke Marik Feldren is easily recognised thanks to the deep scars that run down the left side of his face. The scars appear to have been caused by the claws of some monstrous beast, and run right through his left eye, leaving it milky and blind. Shoulder length grey hair and mutton chops frame his face, which almost always has a serious expression. Duke Marik always appears dressed in the finest military regalia, medals and badges adorning his gold-lined surcoats, and walks upright with a confident, almost arrogant stride.Notable Achievements
Duke Marik has seemingly lead a life destined for leadership. He served in the Cerulean Army for a while but was quickly promoted to the Empire's diplomatic core. From there he inherited his position in Seaton. There is little notable about his career, other than it being seemingly blessed by good fortune.
