Mana Mey
"Frost, this is Mey. The enemy is on their final approach. Whether this works or not, it's going to be the final transmission of the Valiant Star. Get your clones, tell Voss good luck from me, and I'll see you in Hell."
Early Life
Born and raised in a floating city above Europa’s turbulent oceans, Mana Mey led an unremarkable childhood in a middle-class family. She drifted through school, neither excelling nor failing, her records showing an average student with little to set her apart. It wasn’t until she joined the Jupiter Pilot’s Association near the end of her formal education that she found her calling. Mey took naturally to the cockpit, displaying an intuitive grasp of ship handling that defied her otherwise modest academic performance. Her skill as a Pilot opened doors, and soon she entered military service, where she rapidly climbed the ranks. Her leadership style was unorthodox—eschewing strict adherence to tactical doctrine in favor of instinct, adaptability, and a keen understanding of human dynamics. She had a rare talent for maintaining the loyalty of her subordinates while still keeping the favor of her superiors, even when she openly disagreed with them. For years, she served in minor skirmishes and routine deployments, never distinguishing herself in combat but cultivating a reputation as a leader who inspired fierce devotion. That reputation would become crucial in the darkest days of the Cozine Disaster.
Cozine Disaster
Jupiter Fleet 2 was the third fleet thrown into the meat grinder against Cozine-07, a rogue AI that had seized control of an armada of synthetic war machines. Outnumbered sixteen to one in sheer tonnage, the fleet fought a brutal delaying action, holding the line just long enough for the evacuation of Ganymede. When the dust settled, the only survivor of the armada was the RSC Valiant Star, with Captain Mey at its helm. Facing the choice between futile martyrdom or a desperate gamble, she chose to retreat, slipping past Cozine-07’s forces in a maneuver so audacious that its success remains a mystery. In the aftermath, she became the architect of a new kind of war—one fought in the shadows, with scavenged vessels and unorthodox tactics. Gathering survivors, both military and civilian, she patched together the Final Fleet, a ragtag force that harassed Cozine’s supply lines, crippled key relay stations, and sabotaged its production facilities. In doing so, she exposed a key vulnerability of AI and Synthetic Intelligences: their reliance on predictable contingencies. Mey’s Law was born from these battles—when in doubt, do something crazy. By forcing Cozine-07 into unexpected scenarios, she could create brief moments of hesitation, a single beat of indecision that could mean the difference between survival and annihilation.
The Final Ploy
As the resistance coalesced, Mey joined forces with Sebastian Frost’s Clone legions and Gideon Voss’s cybernetic forces, forming the Triple Resistance. Their combined efforts systematically weakened Cozine-07’s grasp on its synthetic thralls, with Mey’s fleet disrupting supply chains and communications in coordination with Frost’s planetary assaults and Voss’s infiltration teams. But the war’s turning point came with the final assault on Cozine-07 itself. Knowing that a direct attack on the AI’s defenses was impossible, Mey took an all-volunteer strike force and launched an assault from the rear, targeting Cozine’s most formidable warship—an Avernus-Class Dreadnought retrofitted from the wreckage of the Lunar Salvator. Against impossible odds, she led a suicidal charge, losing twelve ships on approach before landing six—including the Valiant Star—directly on the enemy hull. With no chance of victory through conventional means, she executed a final, desperate maneuver: shifting the entire fleet into Redspace, dragging the colossal warship with them. In that moment, Cozine’s defensive line faltered, creating the opening Voss needed to strike the killing blow. The Valiant Star was never seen again, lost to the abyss of Redspace, but ghost stories and whispered legends persist. Some claim to see her ship flickering in the void, an echo of defiance that endures beyond time.
Legacy
Mana Mey is one of the Triple Resistance, culture heroes of the Pan Solar Consortium. She is idolized as the perfect naval officer, and a clever strategist as well as an infinitely quotable figure.

Mey's Law: "When in doubt, do something crazy."
"Piss in half the soup."
"Don't ask, just break."
