Grand Army of Venus

Structure

Technically, the organization of the GRAV is a Grand Army Planetary Defense Force, though recruitment efforts are hindered by the culture of Venus itself; Venusian generally prefer hedonistic lifestyles to the more spartan requirements of military life. To assuage this, Allessa Tevanek has contracted Starlight Pharmaceuticals to create a line of Combat Stims and Social Chems that are only available to GRAV troops, and the recruiting problems appear to be over. One Corps of the GRAV is special; they're known as the Special Intelligence and Psionic Investigations (SIPI), and they're made up of Psionically gifted individuals. This of course means that they're all taking Cupidine to stave off the Curse of Venus.

Culture

As far as military-policing outfits go, GRAV is remarkably lax in discipline. "Discipline" is replaced by chem use; each trooper is issued a daily suite of GRAV-only proprietary chems and stims, which help them become fearless, sleep, wake up, relax, focus, etc. "Take your medicine" is a common order in response to backchat by lower ranks, which is generally taken as an order to take Scorbinol, a huffer that makes a trooper more obedient and relaxed. The exception to this lack of discipline is SIPI, who are strictly controlled and highly trained. They use amps, psychoactive drugs, and constant excersises to improve their already impressive talents. Their control is so tight, in fact, that it gives citizens the impression that they're emotionless and uncaring, neither of which is generally true.

Public Agenda

Like all Planetary Defense Forces, GRAV acts as national guard, disaster relief, and a police force.

Assets

GRAV lacks hovertanks, but they do have a small fleet of Hovercraft and each Line (6 teams) has one Team with 5 PLIA Battlesuits led by a Cataphract. They also have a bipedal SI robot for each Team. This robot is meant to either defend against enemies closing in to melee or to charge and tie up the enemy. Either way, they're meant to absorb fire and keep the Team out of melee combat. They are keyed to follow the orders of their Team, and they wield Electron-Sheathe Staves.
