Dambak Confederation

The Dambak Confederation is a nation located in the Federal Province of the Calama Steppe. It lies across the three Delta Islands: Maso, Yasiyan, and Tinda, as well as parts of the mainland. It is a maritime trading nation, largely focused on exporting goods across the White Ocean. The largest city in Dambak is Maso City, on the largest island, Maso. The Calama Republic lies to its north and east, the Hawarami Federation lies to its south, and the great White Ocean to its west.   The Dambak Confederation declared its independence during the Interregnum, and was recognised as an autonomous nation within the Republic of Tersten. It has historically been in the Calaman sphere since it was first settled sometime in 11 PC. Dambak was created by the Tersten State, and administered by the Governor-General of Calama, Tómas Melo. Calama became a hotbed of resistance during the Great Revolution, culminating in the liberation of the region into numerous smaller states. They would eventually form the Dambak Confederation in the south, and the Calama Republic in the north. Both states claim the city of Santa Maria and its surrounding area, leading to a few minor diplomatic incidents.   Dambak has been part of the Yukelan sphere of influence since its creation, as the Yukela Pradesh has recognised the Dambak claims over Santa Maria. In 72 PC, Dambak became one of several signatory members of the Defence and Prosperity Agreement, becoming a member of the Riohacha Pact. In response, the Calama Republic's claim was recognised by the Dustbowler Collective and the Hawarami Federation, who make up the Sahamptha Union.   The current President of the Dambak Confederation is Sakura Nakano, elected in 70 PC. She aims to continue Pro-Yukelan policies, allowing its corporations into the islands.

Demography and Population

The Dambaki are made up of numerous peoples from across Tersten and beyond. They share cultural and ethnic similarities to East Asian groups, with the sub-tropical archipelago of the Delta Islands being similar in geography and climate to Indonesia or the Philippines. As such, many peoples from that region have found themselves a new home on Tersten. There also exists a sizable minority of Manzalan and Calaman peoples, predominantly around the city of Santa Maria.
