History
It is said that the region of Frostern derives it's name from a few claimed sources. The first is that it was named after an ancient God of Commerce worshipped by no living peoples anymore, the second that it was named after a King Frost who was the first to rule over the area (leading to House Frost of Roghavern's strenuous claim to an independent Kingdom) and the third is merely it had a different name before, but is now known as Frostern since the establishment of a Frosian Kingdom on the site where Talvel's Point now stands.
Geography
Situated in the centre of Skìrah, Frostern Hold is covered in various glens and woods including the mythical Great Glen where most of the peoples and settlements reside on the banks of the Bekkar River along with other minor waters. Frostern borders Streamwood Hold to the east, Valhol and Roghavern Holds to the north, Dawnsmarch Hold to the south, and Skyral Hold to the west.
Areas of the Great Glen were actually formed from a now-extinct volcano that shaped the region and so, the plains of Frostern Hold that cover most of the area are highly fertile and perfect for both growing crops and keeping livestock.
Fauna & Flora
The Great Glen is the only area of Skìrah where one can find Giants of any kind, as they appear to roam semi-nomadically herding animals back to their makeshift camps. Mammals such as mammoths, deer, wolves, foxes and wild goats can all be encountered across the Hold.
Natural Resources
The rocks in the region are rich with coal and iron deposits. Currently these are the following active ore veins across the Region; 29x Iron, 18x Corundum, 5x Mercury, 5x Coal, 3x Gold, 3x Silver, 3x Copper, 2x Malachite.
