Proximal Realms
Near Planes of Existence
The Proximal Realms are a collection of closely linked planes that exist in immediate metaphysical proximity to the Prime Materium. They are not distant or abstracted realms, but adjacent layers of reality, overlapping the material world and interacting with it continuously.
These realms function as reflections, extensions, or counterparts to material existence. Phenomena such as magic, death, perception, and transition rely upon their structure, and events in the Prime Materium frequently cast echoes or consequences across them. Passage between the Proximal Realms is rare for the untrained, yet their influence is ever present.
Each Proximal Realm possesses distinct properties and purposes, governing specific aspects of existence beyond the purely physical. Together, they form the immediate cosmological environment in which mortal life unfolds, providing the framework through which balance, transformation, and continuity are maintained.
