Elden Age
The Elden Age followed the Age of Distant Twilight, marking the rise of the Elden Ones—ancient, inscrutable beings who shaped vast empires before the first humans ever walked the earth. Their cities were said to have been grown from the earth itself, others claim it was forged of star-metals, and some even tell that their structures sprung fully-formed from thought itself. Legends abound that their magic bent light, memory, and time itself. No one knows where the Elden came from, nor why they vanished.
All that remains are relics of impossible function, monoliths no tool can scar, and glyphs no mind can fully comprehend. The Church of Holy Law officially does not recognize their existence, but some scholars believe they were portions of the primordial sea that slipped between the Architect's solidification of the world.
Scholars, dreamers, and fools still seek Elden ruins, hoping to find answers. Few ever return.
This era is followed by the Shrouded Age.
