Shrouded Age

The Shrouded Age came after the disappearance of the Elden Ones , a time when the seas rose and an empire now known as. the Drowned Crowns ruled vast island empires across the storm-lashed world. It is believed to mark the first great human civilization, though the truth is buried beneath ocean and myth. Their thalassocracies were said to span shattered archipelagos, and their rites called to deep forces older than the moon.

Little remains of these Drowned Crowns—only barnacle-covered idols, salt-eaten coinage, and scant references in later texts. Their writing is known, but not understood; their monuments rise only when tides fall too far. Some theorize they bargained with what the Elden Ones left behind, their demise probably because of punishment from it.

The Shrouded Age ended in typhonic calamity—not with war, but with storm. Entire cities vanished beneath the waves, and the world shifted toward dry land once more.

This era is followed by the Age of Glory.
