Andros Fairfield
Doctor Andros Bergamot Fairfield, IV (a.k.a. "Andy")
The cunning and ambitious leader of The Makers Consortium, Andros is a rotund short man who hides his balding pate with a leather skull cap. He is fond of dark reds and purples for his garb, always kitted out with leather tool straps. His age is somewhat indeterminate, despite the grey of his eyebrows and stubble, and his bright blue eyes are quick and inquisitive. He wears welders goggles on his head, ready for whenever he feels the itch to fabricate some metal, and his calloused fingers are stained from all of the blueprint ink he works with.
Andros is a dwarf who was raised amongst humans, and who learned of his heritage only later in life. He is a deeply ambitious man, audacious in scope of thought, and as such has begun to try to gain an entrance to Dwarvenholme, where he has heard rumors of adamantite and mithril forges. With such tools at his disposal, he could craft a raft of very powerful items, indeed.

Andros' everpresent skullcap hides his balding scalp, and he habitually wears a pair of welding goggles perched up on his forehead. His leather shop apron is well-worn, and stained from years of hard use. He wears steel tipped boots with thick soles, and carries smith's gloves tucked into his belt.

Mental characteristics
Personal history
Andros was abandoned as a child; the circumstances of which he does not know. He was taken in and cared for by a kind couple who did everything they could to raise the unusual child. They have always despaired at his striking lack of empathy, but tried very hard to instill a code of behavior that would take the child through to a successful adulthood.
They were surprisingly successful, in that Andros never became a serial killer. Some would argue that his work with weapons of mass destruction would make him a mass murderer, but that is a discussion for another time.
Sexuality
Education
Employment
Moving to Greynor in 5548NG to work for the world famous Bardic College Campus. He quickly isolated himself from his peers with his srident political ideologies, and accepted an offer from his guild, The Makers Consortium, to come and take the helm in 5562NG. He has taken them in a very profitable direction with his ideas on mechanized warfare.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Andros graduated from an academically severe program at Tulara University, with a doctorate in philosophy mastering in metallurgy. He is recognized as one of the premier metallurgists in the world, able to refine his ore so well that he can manufacture his parts to exacting tolerances.
Failures & Embarrassments
Andros has never been able to create fully autonomous machines, and is obsessed with finding the key to instilling them with life.
Mental Trauma
The constant rejection of his peers has made Andros cold and bitter, and he has turned inward, becoming inimitably greedy, and thoroughly jaded.
Intellectual Characteristics
Andros is not technically "quick-witted"; he processes information perhaps more slowly than some would expect. However, the power of his intellect is vast, and once any information of any type is absorbed by the man, it is available to him forever. He thinks outside of normal parameters on many levels, and he can apply his knowledge to problems from entirely unexpected angles.
Morality & Philosophy
Andros has become exceptionally jaded, and greedy. He feels as if the world in general is out to get him, and the only way for him to be able to get what he wants is to take it, whether by trickery or deceit makes no difference to him. He expects all others to think exactly as he does, and does not believe there are any truly altruistic people. All life is a struggle, and one must do what one must do to survive.
Taboos
Andros will not knowingly hurt children, or innocents.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Andros is terrified of death, and has been trying to find a way to transfer his essence into a machine. He feels he has attained the technical expertise he needs to craft the machine, but not to do the actual transfer. His research has taken him down the path of sentient machines, and has become obsessed with Warforged production, and pre-maker technology.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
