1. Life

  Childhood
Mandres and his younger brother Thos grew up in Kron, the capital of Harkom. They were four and six years old when the Sun fleet departed from their home port. Their parents, Held and Barba Dresker, died when their private caravel was torn apart just before the Stranding.   The Dresker brothers were found by a troop of Juru on the following morning after the Indi Hit Wave. They refused to leave the deadly area and slipped through the hands of the rescuers over and over again, before Lawkeeper Stelav finally caught them just before the sun came up to burn the land into ashes.   The two brothers were the first and only children to grow up within the Juru culture, with no certain patron in charge of them. The people of Alkor ministered to them altogether. Both of them were thirsty for knowledge from the first day. They were fascinated by the narratives of the Juru and began to write them down, a practice that was entirely new to Juru people at that time. When they were 10 and 12 years old, they frequently entertained everyone at the bonfire with their own stories about Harkom, which were utterly made up.     The Library of Teel
Mandres came to the Free City of Teel as a young man with great visions. He pushed the referendum for building the Library of Teel in the 20's and he was the one who made the plans for the expansion of the Block in 24 AS. Even before the library was opened, Mandres introduced the written culture in Teel and scheduled a standard for the universal creole language that had established between the Juru and the Settlers.   In the three years prior to the Tannebrew Fire, Mandres felt almost personally insulted by the mere existence of The Jurnal, a free newspaper in criticism of the modern scientific ways of the Alchemists. Deprecating competition in general, The Jurnal's demise will hardly have saddened him.

History

Between broken ships, stranded whales and the sad remains of a dying world, the Juru troopers found the young bothers Mandres and Thos at the day of the Stranding, who (as many others) refused to leave the inhospitable place without their loved ones. Their parents both died in the fatal accident.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

Mandres and Thos are intellectual men on the search for their lost past. Both are very interested in written culture and the documentation of narratives and actual history for a better understanding of the multiverse and the world they live in.
