Zealand Falls

Zealand Falls is a beautiful city, designed much like Amapan, with different districts divvied up throughout several natural valleys. Streams of water rush through the town, creating a vast network of waterfalls which give the city a permanent shroud of mist. For millennia, its inhabitants have used the pools of water to relax, especially the hot springs which exist in higher elevations. For many, Zealand Falls is a paradise getaway, not too different from I'iawah.

Defences
Zealand Falls has no man-made defences. Instead its defence comes from the tall mountains surrounding it, and the fact that the local soldiers and crownsguard are highly trained to navigate the rocky terrain, to be able to outmaneuver any potential invaders. Additionally, positioned at the top of every mountain is a lookout tower with nearby ballistae, which are always manned.
Industry & Trade
Zealand Falls' major industry is tourism, however they also make a fair bit of money from mining iron and gemstones.
Infrastructure
Zealand Falls is organized similarly to its neighbor city, Amapan. It is made up of three separate sectors - Kasken, Reinstad, and Heitton, which are divided naturally by the surrounding mountains. It can be difficult to travel between sectors, though due to proximity they are all considered to be a part of one city.
Kasken
is primarily a business center, and sees the least tourism of the three sectors. Due to Zealand Falls' position between Amapan and the rest of Amayarr, it sees almost as much trade as the capital, as anyone who wishes to travel to Amapan must first travel through Zealand Falls. Kasken is generally seen as the least exciting part of Zealand Falls, and most visitors prefer to stay in Heitton.Heitton
is the sector of the highest elevation and by far the most integrated into the surrounding mountainscape. Many homes and businesses are built directly into the mountainside, close enough to the streams to hear them rushing overhead, very similar architecturally to Kerala. This is where most of the wealthier denizens of Zealand Falls reside, as well as where most of the hot springs and popular camping areas are located.Reinstad
is a sort of middleground of its two neighboring sectors. While it has less beautiful scenery than Heitton, it also has less tourists, and more interesting night life than Kasken. Overall, Zealand Falls is considered to be the third most technologically developed city in all of Tarroc, with a public transport system going between its three sectors, an elaborate sewage system drilled deep into the mountains, and ever-innovative and efficient architecture.Guilds and Factions
The Silver Tail, though they are headquartered in Gibraltar, also have a large barracks in Zealand Falls.
The Clasp have also been known to operate in Zealand Falls, though their presence is not as obvious here as it is in other, less wealthy cities.
History
Zealand Falls was one of the original three cities founded by humans in the First Era, alongside Amapan and Wrynnhall. As such, it has been a hub for technological and magical discovery throughout the span of Tarroc's existence.
Architecture
Zealand Falls is globally praised for its architecture. It combines ancient Dwarvish architecture with modern Human architecture so flawlessly that you could swear it inspired both of them. Houses are perfectly carved into the surrounding mountains that the valleys below are left practically untouched and remain as beautiful as they were at the dawn of creation. Glass walls and ceilings are used throughout the city to display the streams which run through at every possible opportunity, almost well enough to convince you that you might be underwater in some places, while you are, in fact, thousands of feet above sea level.
Geography
Zealand Falls is situated amidst the northern ridge of the Centurion Crags, some sixty or seventy miles away from the Dunson Bay. Streams running through the crags and into the bay make way for a multitude of beautiful waterfalls, which give the city its name. Because of its beautiful natural features, Zealand Falls is a hot spot for nature lovers in Lar Na Tire .
