Research Assistant
Sven wears his silver hair in a topknot, its tail often falling to the left to about the height of his nose. That's only if he gets it put up correctly. To do so, he'd need to use a mirror when we dresses for the day and he often forgets to do so. When he forgets, it is just as likely to fall in front of his face, brushing against the top of his spectacles. Combined with clothes that are certain to be stained, pants that are too baggy, and suspenders that are generally pulled too tight, Sven certainly does not represent the peak of Nerrid fashion.
Worse, he talks slowly. This clearly annoys his coworkers at the Nerrid National Library who assume that his inability to rattle off several paragraphs of words in a single breath means that he was dropped on his head as a child. As a result, Sven usually gets the most menial of chores at the Library including playing research assistant to visiting foreigners. Fortunately for the foreigner's, the slow pace of Sven's speech makes him much easier to understand. Unfortunately for these same foreigners, Sven shares the penchant of his people to speak overly loud when talking to anyone other than another Nerrid.
As it turns out, Sven's problems speaking at a Nerrid-acceptable rate are not a reflection of his mental prowess. He is, in fact, a gifted bureaucrat, capable of navigating paperwork with ease. Similarly, he has an excellent memory and understands Randolaf Johansonsonsonsonson's system of organizing books better than most of his colleagues, making him a valuable asset to anyone conducting research in Nerridon.
