Intrix
The Tall One
Intrix (Inn-tricks) swept away the fledgling Nerrid after Kayla sprinkled mischief onto cribs of Kharl's children. He instantly knew that these new forms would become his favored children and doted upon them for a decade or two before becoming quite bored with the situation.
History/Relationships
Other than the occasional wager with Kayla or practical joke on another deity, Intrix stays out of divine politics. He has his entertainments - be it his Nerrid or some invention of his own - and has little interest in the power struggles of the major gods. He is, however, an excellent listener and quite practical. Other gods have learned, over the millennia, to avoid telling Intrix their plans. While he might not act upon them himself, he is always willing to share them with another party that might action.
Intrix has close ties with several Human gods, Kayla, often asking for her luck in his endeavors and Anderi for the knowledge that his light brings. Surprisingly, he has become friends with the stoic Kharl, the two deities bonding over their chose children and generally broadly accepting hearts.
Dogma
The Nerrid see their patron god as “The Tall One,” towering above them in his glory. He manifests himself as a six-foot tall Nerrid, with a proportionally correct nose (for a Nerrid). He is as mischievous as his followers, and often causes pranks to befall his priests. He speaks often in dreams and riddles. He believes in the proper details of everything, and his ceremonies are exceptionally long and intricate.
Church/Priesthood
A priest of Intrix rarely consciously chooses a life of faith, but rather Intrix chooses them. “Touched by Intrix” has, by good reason, become a colloquialism for brilliant, but insane among the Nerrid. Many of his priests, between their constant thought experiments, riddles, and strange personal rituals possess questionable levels of sanity themselves.
There is no organized church of Intrix. Instead, his clergy regularly work within the government of the Nerrid Alliance, mostly in information gathering and organization. They wear plain brown robes, and often wear spectacles.
Let us not forget that the Tall One adopted us. He chose us. I have often wondered how much of our nature we get from Intrix and how much of Intrix's nature he gets from us.
