In the early days of the Empire of Eldoria, the d'Uthar Family faced a crisis. Dorn d'Uthar, eldest son of Kern d'Uthar I had fallen victim to the dark temptations of vampirism, becoming pawn to Lord Søren Serringal. When Jethrick began to suspect foul play, he was banished from the realm. Unwilling to turn his family's glorious legacy over to dark forces, he raised an army and marched across the Island of Eldoria, plunging the Empire into civil war. Eventually, on the steps of the Imperial Palace, he defeated his bother in single combat. According to legend, the elder d'Uthar was beheaded, impaled, and then burnt by magical fire to ensure his demise. Jethrick assumed the crown of Emperor and his descendants rule the Empire to this day.
