Florence Kandar
Yatian Debutante
A product of the Yatian Finishing School, Florence was married to Cedric Kandar at a young age, her dowry serving to expand her father's business interests and nearly beggaring her new husband who sought her out not for love but instead to purchase respectability. He promptly paraded her around ballrooms and noble audience chambers from Yaty to Ithsaman as his silver tongue raised gold for his next expedition. Two years later, still childless, her husband set off for parts unknown in Azermathia, having deposited her "safely" in Rathgar.
Without nearly enough coin to maintain a lifestyle of her liking, Florence has used the art of conversation and the occasional batted eye to enjoy the finer things in life - at least what little of the finer things as can be found in the Rathgar - at the expense of the local upper class. While she may hold all of this "new money" in some disdain, she has wisely bit her tongue and can be found at most society events, dangling on the arm of some gray haired local businessman or her son. Rumors that she has taken her coquetry to far would be answered with a laugh from Florence. "Just rumors. After all, what else is there to do in this backwater other than gossip."
A product of the Yatian Finishing school and married to the explorer Cedric Kandar, she uses her good looks and social graces to enjoy the finer things in life while her husband raises funds for, or worse yet partakes in, his explorations. Bored with her lot in life, she detests Azermathia but holds her head high and does what she needs to make do.
