Evangeline has the distinction of being the youngest senator in Yaty. Barely 20 winters old, she has turned her golden hair and charming wit into a career in politics. Some of her detractors whisper that its a good thing she won the election for despite her Finishing School education, she does not have the head for anything more complicated. Her supporters, however, would disagree. They see a young woman who uses common preconceptions about the daughters of wealthy merchants and turns them to her advantage. Many a political foe has found himself unwittingly describing his plans to Evangeline, feeding her the sweet pastries that she so loves, only to find themself foiled by her clever manipulations.
Confident beyond her years, she shrugs off the rumors that are whispered in the cafes of the city on the hill about her willingness to use assets beyond just her smile and lovely conversation to change hearts and minds at the Forum. When confronted, she will often frown, shrug, and wink all at the same time, leaving her adversary unclear about whether she simply accepts the rumors as part of the price to participate in politics or is unabashedly acceding that the accusations have bit of truth to them. Her recent membership in the Forum for Democratic Reform have led to a number of late night sightings of the senator with Persius Jakare, further adding fuel to this debate.
