Dolgar Stonebeard

Foreman of the Copperstrike Mine

Dolgar Stonebeard, with His Best Smile
A grizzled Khadric miner from Norharlin, Dolgar has overcome his birth in the Low Clans through his keen eye for detail and hard work. His no-nonsense attitude comes from his belief that any able-bodied Khadra could do the same if they would only apply themselves and he shakes his head disapprovalling at the rampant laziness and shoddy workmanship in the world today. "In my youth," he can often be heard saying, "if ya put out that kind of work, they'd charge ya for wasting their time instead of paying ya."

He keeps his long beard, more gray than black,

meticulously combed out and trimmed, a stark contrast to his clean shaven pate. A deep frown seems permanently etched into his strong jawline and eyes constantly look furrowed. His voice cracks, whip sharp, when barking orders to the sorry lot of miners that his partner, Borin Coppervein has hired to work at this miserable excuse for a mining camp. "I had me offers to mine Mithril back home," he is fond reminding the mine's co-owner.

Promises of riches, though, have kept the grumbling Dolgar hard at work. In fact, Borin will tell anyone who cares to listen with a wink, "Old Dolgar isn't happy unless he's complaining."

While all of the camp's miners live in fear of Dolgar's rath, he has never raised a hand to any of them. His constant harangues on proper procedure and hard work have been embraced by most of the crew because they know that deep down, Dolgar cares for all of them. This has never been more apparent when, after an earthquake, he dug furiously to rescue a trio minors trapped by a cave-in, even though that same calamity had broken his left arm.

Most of the new miners are often astonished to hear the rich, clear baritone voice that comes from Dolgar while he works, swinging a pick or setting timber braces, alongside the crew. He has even managed to teach a few of them Khadric work songs and, despite the fact that most know not what they sing, Borin will tell you that its pleasing to the ears. "That crafty old rascal even has them singing harmonies."
