Low Clans
Khadra would never acknowledge that some clans rank higher than others in society. The fact that the clans that make up the bulk of the miners, farmers, and other manual laborers are called the Low Clans is simply a quirk of translation from Khadric from Human and other tongues. Still, the undercurrent does exist in the Underground Kingdom. Miners sons rarely marry craftsmen's daughters, after all.
Despite this subtle tone, the Low Clans are plentiful and respected. Some even achieve heights of fame - either for discovering rich veins of Mithril, glories in battle (for all Khadra a welcome in the warrior ranks), and even, at times, in politics.
