Back to the Future
Day Two: Early Morning, The Island Outside the River of Time, Sometime in 750 AC
The Blue Light
As Yausanti clasps the hilt of the crystalline sword in his hand, it ignites in a light that would make a priest of Anderi blush. Sweeping the blade in a menancing arc he shouts "Koi!" and everyone - Human, he last Ork falls you see the General push his way toward the edge of the rock, staring intently down into the valley. Following his gaze you see the battle continuing to rage when, like stepping out from a warm tavern into the dead of winter the temperature drops. Blue crystals of water begin to solidify in the air momentarily, like thousands of prescious gems, before they explode in wash of blue that blinds you.
How long until you regain consciousness? You do not know. But when your eyes open, your head rings and every muscle aches. The cold of a stone flagstones seeps into them, amplifying your discomfort. Glancing about it is dark, lit only by the shadowy blue light. Your companions - some standing and some lying prone - are arrayed in a semi-circle.
If anyone is dead, add the following:
Kneeling over one of them is the old man from the tree, his white beard shaking slowly.
Thank You for Your Service
Give each character a moment. While wounded and a bit stunned, they all have the ability to take an action (assuming they are not dead). Should they make any sort of threatening action, however, they will become paralyzed much as they were before. After their actions, read the following:
Thanks to you, heroes, for solving the mystery dark and profound,
Guiding the Sword of the Truth and the Light to its home to be found.
Though in the annals of time there is anguish this act may have sown,
Such is the course that the River of Time was destined to own.
Stay ever watchful, for time in its passage reveals yet a foe,
Alien, dark, and malign in its scheme, twisting rivers that flow.
What are its aims? Still a shadowy veil hides the purpose it weaves,
Yet, be prepared, for the call may return to your service, it grieves.

At this point, the old man will kneel by each character and, with a light touch, return them to the tree near their home.
