Algorinth Styvalhyme

First Forestpeaker of the Soulmeliti

Algorninth was over three centuries old when he was chosen to lead the Soulmeliti as the first Forespeaker. While there are no records about how such a monumental decision was made, Algorinth was the oldest of his family, unsurprising considering Soulmeliti sentiment towards elders. While it is also not explicitly written, it is widely assumed that the decision to build Solarin where they did - just north of the Silver River along what is now known as the River of Tears instead of at their confluence was due to Algorinth's desire to remain near his family's ancestral home.

Despite his age when taking office, Algonrinth continued to guide the Soulmeliti Forests for over two centuries. It is said that his steady head helped calm the strife that had already surfaced between the Elynthi and Soulmeliti. Perhaps, some historians suggest, if his son a bit more of his father's spiritual temperament, the entire history of northeast Tarien would be different. Others scoff at the notion, citing the fact that while Algorinth may have been devout, he also was fierce. The old Forestspeaker did lead the army himself after his four hundredth birthday to dsicourage Orkish raiders, leading what became a full-scale invasion of the Orkish Hills where he had hoped to wipe "the scourge of Ork" from Tarien. Despite his innovative techniques during the campaign, the Orks held off Algorinth's army, forcing the creation of a border that stands to this day.

Even after the war, Algornith continued to lead his people until, two decades after his five hundredth birthday, he passed on to Tyloma, his title given to his son, Meltorythe Styvalhyme.
