Ashe C2 Episode 64 - Aerial Climax

Previously On Liters of Tomorrow...
Anchored hundreds of feet above the great city of Westinox you found yourselves In the hold of the airship known as the Fierce Stargazer.  The new invention of Exatron Saul and his band of mercenaries. On the deck Saul martialed his forces and prepared an attack.  He readied his mercenaries and his strange metal golem that stood sentry and alerted him to your presence.
Scrambling below to ready yourselves you found the Aarokocran Bard known as Kraw hiding naked in one of the rooms.  He had apparently been captured by his aarokocran fling, Caspian Tern.  She knocked him out and locked him in her quarters in an apparent attempt to take him with her as they took off in the airship.  Kraw, not seeing another option teamed up with the lot of you and desperately looked for his weapons and equipment.
Over the next thirty seconds you all found any missing equipment including the lower legs of Sava Cogson.  Another prisoner of Exatron Saul, Sava was to be dragged across space and passed off as Cog himself.  The missing Automaton that Finn and Saul had been sent to retrieve for a bounty.  Finn demanded several moments to repair the warforged man and told the rest of you to hold the mercs off.
Into the hold four well armed and trained fighters streamed.  The warlock man known as Giles took off up one of the staircases and laughed wildy as he engaged a dwarf.  Orik and Mausim headed into the hall too take on two more.  Kraw stayed with finn to assist him with inspiring songs.  The plan worked as Finn quickly repaired Sava and joined the battle.  Kraw was faced with the woman who had abducted him and took pity on her.  A Suggestion spell caused Caspian Tern to flee the area, she drifted safely down to the city below.
Over the next few minutes a fierce combat took place with much blood and bone spilt.  As you all began to winnow down the enemy forces you found yourselves on the upper deck facing off against the golem and Exatron Saul himself.  The warlock Giles was badly singed by the golem and saul and went down.  Kraw found himself racing to stabilize the human man and was given a choice by Saul.  Take a large sum of gold to finish the man off.  A quick slice to the neck and Kraw could leave unharmed and a lot richer.  The other option was to get blasted with Saul's eldritch cannon.
Time seemed to freeze as Kraw seriously considered his options.  He placed the tip of his sword to Gile's neck, and then at the last second leapt into the air to defy Saul.  With a gleeful glint in his eye Exatron Saul fired his cannon and the blast pierced Kraw through the heart.  You all watched in horror as the lifeless form of the Aarokocran bard fell to the city below.
Now Finn, Mausim and Orik face off against Saul and his golem directly.  Giles lies unconscious but stable on the deck.   Finn screams in anger as Saul laughs maniacally!
"Let's finish this Bruv!"

Plot points/Scenes

Using The Super Adaptoid Golem:
these are expensive and difficult to repair, and as such are typically kept in reserve until lesser automata have failed to subdue a magical threat. Once deployed, they generally attack the creature with the highest level unexpended spell slot that they can see, first attacking with their Magebreaker Fist, then using their Spellpurge Glare for as long as they have available charge counters, then switching back.
They use their Overcharge only on their second attack, and only if they have seen their target make use of a magic item, and use their Dampening Field immediately whenever they start their turn with 9 or more charge counters. They use their Waste-Magic Cycling at each opportunity, even if doing so puts them in danger of a Supercritical Overload.
The Adaptoid Golem starts with five Charge Counters. Any spells fired at it recharge it's Charge counters by one.
[DM Note: attempt to destroy the airship as the Golem overcharges and self destructs!]

It has taken on a winter chill and the fireplaces have only ash residue in them.
[DM Note: The mask has been given to them so that they can identify other members of the Eyes of the Basilisk. By placing the mask on your head and attuning with it, it quickly turns invisible and disappears. The wearer can still feel it however. It allows the wearer to see others wearing the masks in the city. These are the secret members of the Eyes who are always in positions of power. Let the mask transmit the Code phrase to the wearer "I see that it grows dark at twilight...". Other mask wearers will have a sigil glowing on their foreheads, a purple blue basilisk that hovers an inch off of the skin. The imprint on the front of the mask.]
