Ashe C2 Episode 59 / 60 - Return to Westinox
Episode 60 Previously on Liters of tomorrow...
After defeating Vernabogge and destroying his Phylactery you spen the night recuperating in the town of Ashe. In the morning you returned to the underground manor to continue searching for anything you might have missed. Instead of finding a magical artifact or information pertaining to other Fallen you found the strange Halfling Bard known as Bon Vee walking through a portal. Staring at each other he looked as confused as you.
As he began to explain himself the portal closed behind him and you found yourselves with a new travel companion. You all headed back to the Constellation Inn for some refreshment and some food. Tales were told of your recent adventures and Bon Vee regaled you with the exploits of the other half of your team. As Bon Vee raised a glass of ale to toast to his own accomplishments several townsfolk burst in with news that a giant had entered the center of town and was just standing there.
You all heroically stood up to deal with the threat and Bon Vee heroically retreated back into the eye and allowed the elven Warrior Crashe to take his place. As you headed down the hill to face the 38 ft. tall foe no one noticed that the pendant Bon Vee was wearing fell off and landed in some bushes by the front door of the inn.
Facing off against the giant it's stupor lifted and a bright green glow emanated from it's eyes. The voice of the Dark One boomed out over the town threatening to flatten the buildings and kill all in the giants path. You watched as the giant's body twisted and mutated into a toothy twisted shape and it began to lash out. Finn immediately dosed it with a powerful slow poison and the effects were seen immediately. The muscles of the creature grew languid and sluggish and it began to move slower. The Wild Dice were thrown and climbing vines shot up through the dirt further restraining the giants movements. Crashe and Mausim flew into action. Crashe spun with his twin hand axes and cut the giants right arm in twain. Mausim used his magic sword to explode into a series of magic missiles and a skewering lunge. What seemed like a town shaking, dangerous brouhaha turned into a route of epic proportions. Within thirty seconds the giant lay in pieces on the ground in front of you.
As the team carved up the body for it's resources it was then that Crashe recovered a memory of the strange evil pendant he was carrying before. Mausim and Crashe raced back to recover it only to find that an eight year old boy had scooped it up. Heading to the young boy's house to retrieve the artifact they stumbled onto the bodies of the boys parents. Stabbed to death and shut into a closet. They then followed the blood trail to the stables to find the stablemaster injured and the boy leaping onto a horse to escape. They stopped him and took the amulet away from him. The entity that had possessed him retreated and the pair rehomed the lad at Jaron Dartmoor's house. With the traumatised tyke now exoricised the team hired a boat to get out of Ashe and head to the great city of Westinox.

Plot points/Scenes
Exatron Saul and his Airship
Using The Super Adaptoid Golem:
these are expensive and difficult to repair, and as such are typically kept in reserve until lesser automata have failed to subdue a magical threat. Once deployed, they generally attack the creature with the highest level unexpended spell slot that they can see, first attacking with their Magebreaker Fist, then using their Spellpurge Glare for as long as they have available charge counters, then switching back.
They use their Overcharge only on their second attack, and only if they have seen their target make use of a magic item, and use their Dampening Field immediately whenever they start their turn with 9 or more charge counters. They use their Waste-Magic Cycling at each opportunity, even if doing so puts them in danger of a Supercritical Overload.
The Adaptoid Golem starts with five Charge Counters. Any spells fired at it recharge it's Charge counters by one.
The Fierce Stargazer
Captained by Exatron Saul himself, he had help from the Ghora's mask mercenaries to build an actual airship. It's powered by steam and shardrock that fill a nacelle of lighter than air gases in a bladder underneath the ship.
It is currently crewed by several Aarokocran mercenaries from the Lion's Wing. Also a few trained fighters from the Ghora's Mask.
The Tree of Despair
The Dark one reaches out from an area of woods
A section of forest that has a dark history. A horrific series of murders leaves this place susceptible to the Dark one's influence. He manifests in the tree and summons three massive undead creatures from the soil beneath. The tree itself attacks the players with roots that grab and grapple. The tree itself twists it's trunk into a hideous face replicating the dark one himself. It's eyes glow with a bright sickly green color. It taunts them and tells tales of it's history in the region. How he can feel himself getting stronger every day and that this area is rich with the soil of death. A great battle took place her three thousand years ago and the evil of that day still resonates, allowing him to reach out and touch this part of the material plane. He resurrects three creatures from that day who rise up with glowing green eyes and attack the party.
A massive minotaur with rotting flesh, an ogre enmeshed with human and elven body parts, and a Knight whose rusted helmet is till intact. A green glow emanating from the visor.
The Tannelmimic
Wes has been copied and his memories replicated in this Tannelmimic. It has yet to be found and is going to continue it's murderous spree throughout the Eigerlands. It was given these orders by Lord Vedemire who is still very angry at his defeat. Though he is still reconstituting he has sent different creatures out into the world to try to kill the team.
[the doppleganger's true name is Veluchrus Chrid, they are sexless and genderless and are usually created by Lord Darkhorse.]
He Murders people and poses the bodies in obscene ways. His Modus Operandi is flaying the skin of the torso open and leaving the organs intact but visible. He also always leaves a light arrow that is shoved through the oral cavity into the brain that gives the corpse an eerie glowing light from the eyes. Authorities call him the Ripper Raven due to the raven like mask he wears, identical to the one that Wes has. He makes sure that someone spots him near the crime scene.
Whenever Wes and the team get close to a large population center someone will spot Wes and call the authorities.

Near the end Verilius teamed up with Encealadus Calwyn to turn their focus to the evils of the Dark One. They succeeded in imprisoning him in his Dark Domain. The process of this drove Verilius insane in the end. The rituals required to create the seals were dark and dangerous. The guilt and horrors he witnessed broke him in the end. These thoughts and memories are beginning to bleed into Crashe's mind. NOTE: To do our final quest into the Dark Domain of Aer'Chabadzael Bon Vee and Crashe will need to be separated from the eye. During their operation a massive lode of rock exploded killing several hundred and destroying the ecology of the island. The rest of the Tortles and lizardfolk on the island either died from starvation and disease or fled. Truffle's family were killed in the explosion though her half brother and first cousin escaped right before the explosion. Or were they taken prisoner? The ETC officer responsible was one Captain Banastre Triskelion. A human man in his fifties. Nuth and Demaia Storylines - Nuth is once more being courted by the Assembly of the Weave. They want him to look into the Vault heist in Warshaw and see if they can't find the culprit. The Weave wants to take credit for the collar of course. A former convict has either escaped prison or was set free. This prisoner holds a grudge against the two investigators who captured him… Nuth and Demaia. He also happens to be one King Arric Lee, who is still hoping to find the exact location of the Shatterfall. He is close and that stint in prison almost cost him his chance to become incredibly powerful. If he ever sees them again he has sworn vengeance.

Episode 59 Previously on Liters of Tomorrow...
Months ago you had traveled under the Ashen forest into the halls of the buried Allesandre Manor. Directed by the strange Knight of the Deadrose you found a painting hidden in a back room amongst many lost treasures. The painting was protected by a strange force wall and small indent in the stone beneath it could be seen. The tiny shriveled knight directed you to find the key that fit that indent, by using it you could deactivate the force wall and make the painting vulnerable. You learned that this was one of the fabled phylacteries of the Fallen. Those agents of the Dark One who have immortality and great power directly from the Dark One himself. This was the source of power for the evil, powerful Tiefling man known as Vernabogge.
You sailed into Copenhaus to find the city firmly controlled by Vernabogge and his army of guards. You learned of his plot to drop a bomb on the underdark to draw the drow into a war, you also learned that he had created a prison to house most of the political leaders and any who stood in his way. He was systematically removing them by forcing them to kill each other in gladiatorial combat. His grand plan was to create a world wide war to please the Dark One and sow chaos and death amongst the people of Tanaheim.
After defusing his bomb and removing his threat to the Drow he met you on the Light Bridge and taunted you, claiming that he was going to play a game of cat and mouse with you in the city. You turned the tables on him by leaping to attack him immediately, surprising him and his small force of guards. The battle lasted for several minutes as spells, blades, and surprise guest stars acted heroically, cowardly, and sacrificially. At the end you all surrounded Vernabogge and watched as his body crumbled into dust.
With most of the city safe you ventured into Nuxhall Manor to clear the last of his lieutenants. The tabaxi assassin, a Goliath barbarian and a dangerous Mind Flayer. The battle was far more dangerous than you anticipated but still ended in triumph. You had cleared his forces from the city and found the strange key that would deactivate the shield in front of his Phylactery. Without delay you headed west, back to the Ashen Forest and Allesandre Manor undereneath. You fought through his undead forces and came up against the reconstituted Vernabogge once more. As he tore through Nuth, Finn and Mausim, Demaia scrurried into his phylactery room and attempted to destroy the painting.
Forgetting the key she panicked and attempted to smash the painting and the secured door with her Rhinocerous wild shape form. The door was protected with an arcane lock and she found no success. Mausim managed to telekinetically get her the key and she fumbled with it for several seconds all the while hearing the screams of Nuth as he was physically punished by the powerful fiend. Finn and Mausim leapt to his rescue only to thrashed as well. Eventually demaia succeeded and lit the painting on fire with her druidic magic. The Fallen known as Vernabogge turned back into the weak Victor that he was three thousand years ago. You all watched as he aged, withered and died in front of you...
