Scions of the Dawn

Much has been spoken of the Scions, yet little has been remembered of them since the time of the Dawn Age, a time when the world was young and pure. All of it is filled with wonders that they create and the world was so full of warmth before it was consumed in the darkness that came for it. - Radiarch Agnus Reuthel

The Scions of the Dawn were said to be the first people to inhabit the world, being pure beings that existed in a time known as the Dawn Age, a time of peace and prosperity, with the influence of The Gloom being much weaker than in later ages. It was through these people that they created many great cities and technological advancements all while having a strong connection with The Spark as many of them were believed to be Brights. With their gifts and talents, they created a paradise that spanned across the entirety of Embera. However, that paradise would eventually end when many would eventually become tainted by one of their own known only as The Deceiver. Corrupted by the power of the Gloom, he began to twist the beliefs of the Scion and brought division and turmoil to the Scion. Causing a division between them that seemed to refuse to heal the longer it remained.
In time his lies would be relieved by another figure known as the Light Bearer and using the legendary Lantern of Revelation reveal their dark nature for all to see. Despite the truth being revealed it still marked the end of the Scions as many were tainted by the Deciever's words resulting in a divide between their people and those that joined the Deceiver would be forever known as the Harbingers of the Darktide. Resulting in a war known as the War of the Fractured that saw the end of the Scion's civilization and the end of the Dawn Age and into the Age of Shadows with the Scions being scattered in many groups across the continent and their wonders lost in the war with only a fraction of what it once was as many still try to relearn and discover what was lost during that time to ensure a much brighter future from it.

Culture and cultural heritage

First of the Light: The Scion were the first people to be created at the creation of the world. Be the ones that built.
Symbiotic Union: With a strong connection with the light the Scions were highly skilled in creating items infused with Radiance and using it in ways that allowed them to be at a technology level would seem god-like to some.
Souls of Purity: Unlike Emberans of later ages, Scions were not burdened by the worldly troubles and did not suffer greatly from the effects of Gloomification or other mental diseases.

Average technological level

The Scions were known to create many wonders during their time as their mastery over Radiance and the communion with the world made them skilled builders. But most of all they created power relics that they used to keep the power of the Gloom at bay to ensure that the world did not become corrupted with its influence. As well as created finally crafted cities made of stone and marble that were embued with light that never worn and cracked. What few of their achievement that exist to this day are coveted as items of great value such as the Sun Forges and the Lantern of Revelation that hold great significance to the people.

Across the Embera, the remnants of the Scions can be found all across it from the ruins to artifacts that managed to survive the ages of turmoil that have passed since their time. Anything that is found from that time is highly coveted from texts to simple items to try and get a better understanding of how their culture prospered. All of it ensures to better the world than it was before and find enjoy it a little more. Yet what has been found of it is only just the surface of a world that has only been seen as a fracture in a much larger picture.
