Sun Forges

Sun Forges dates back to the Dawn Age when the world was young and full of life when The Gloom was not as powerful in these times. But its threat still existed, and the people of the age found a way to imbue the power of Radiance to allow them to fight against the Gloom Spawn. At one time, thousands of Sun Forges were found worldwide and used to defend people with weapons and armor. But after the Dawn Age, the techniques and methods to build the Sun Forges were lost with every great battle with The Gloom. Fewer and fewer forges exist with every passing age and are coveted as invaluable treasures that must be protected at all costs.

Utility

All it takes is an object to be placed on the forge and the techniques needed to transfer Radiance. Once complete, the object will hold the Radiance until it is destroyed. Though the methods to create such a complex process of combining energy with metal had also been lost with the origins of the forges.

Social Impact

The Sun Forges is considered one of the few effective methods to fight Gloomspawn. As standard weapons may do some damage, they are not as deadly as they should be. But weapons containing Radiance are more effective as the power of its light cuts right through them.

Access & Availability

Sun Forges are scattered about the world and heavily protected by the Radiarchys of Embera as they cannot be made as they once were. They are only used in making weapons and armor, so military forces often have more access to them. At the same time, those willing to pay or have permission can also be allowed to gain these items.

Complexity

The machines are designed to capture and transfer Radiance into objects, imbuing them with their power. How it is done has also been lost, and only through the teachings of Sun Forgers can it actually be accomplished, all of which are kept a secret by their Forge Masters.
