Su Chi Academy
The Su Chi Academy is a large school in the north-eastern quarter of Bajapur. The Su-monster is a type of spirit ape, and the martial arts technique taught by the Academy emulates its fighting styles.
A large building, the Academy is almost a fortress within Bajapur. White-washed three-storey walls surround the edifice, with red-painted one storey-high doors and guards standing watch. A ring of painted gold surrounds the topmost level, with an onion-style dome in the centre.
In front of the onion dome, overlooking the training ground, is an enclosure containing an immense Su-ape with golden fur, and red hands, feet and face. It borders on Huge in size, and is surrounded by fruit and flowers. As the gentle ape relaxes in the enclosure, it is large enough to eat a pumpkin as if it were an apple.
The training area is a large rectangular arena sunk one storey into the ground, in front of the mascot Su-monster's enclosure. Disaster almost struck when the treacherous student Pang Zhu threw a cursed ribbon onto the ape in an attempt to stop investigators from the House of Cats as they tracked down the Steel River , a thief who stole the Scrolls of Juzo Suko from the House, killing several of the House's guards and librarians in the process.
The master of the Academy is Raman, and a letter from Zamadan of the House of Cats was enough to make him cooperate completely with the House's investigators.
