Brief Summary

Welcome to Submersus Animus. A world layered with realms, all of which intersects with Ethlon - the human realm. While majority of the humans remain blissfully unaware of the other realms and it's corresponding creatures, the world continues to function and turn with every new event, even in secret. Not all knowledge is equal. But I will share with you what we know so that you may sit in unease.

Cosmology

All the realms in this world intersect. But if they were to be layered, starting with the outer most layer, the Abyss and Lucana would be on the outer edges, engulfing everything. The Abyss swallows all that is lost, and the Lucana swallows all that are delusional. Next would be the Astral and Nether. These two are more commonly known by humans as "heaven" and "hell". These realms is where the gods, devils, and successfully passed on souls lie. As the middle layer, the Ether is where Ferryn, or better known by humans as grim reapers or soul collectors, pass through. It is simply known as Death's domain. Last, but certainly not least is Ethlon, or also known as the human realm, and the Eqexus, also known the Maiaaks realm. These two realms is where the living reside.

Magic System

Magic is the most common power among the humans. There are two forms; natural magic and arcane magic. Natural magic can be taught to almost anyone, and arcane magic is generally passed down. Natural magic is more traditional and old fashioned way of doing magic, primarily using the Earth to promote its power. Arcane magic on the other hand is what most modern humans think of when they hear the word "magic". Things like wands, magic rings, and casting spells to summon fireballs. Then there is Livine and Levix. Livine is human energy that can be concentrated and manifested to enhance weapons, create barriers, or even heal the injured. Levix is the maiaak's version of livine. And of course we have the Symseons, also known as psychics. Most of the time symseons are mixed with magic users, however not all magic users are symseons, and not all symseons are magic users. A symseon is born with their ability, it is not something that can be taught.

Important History

Light Fracture

A blinding light that lasted for what felt like hours that only passed by for mere seconds tore a hole in the human realm, sucking in almost all the maiaaks in the world. Luckily the tear did not last long, and closed as soon as the blinding light faded. Thus creating the Eqexus.

Current World

Today's timeline is centered on modern technology in Ethlon. Well, slightly advanced considering androids roam among the humans and the virtual world, SAVR, is live and active. We are now at a time where humans are reaching for the stars, researching psychological memory saving with technology, and the select few learning to coexist with maiaaks. Or perhaps that's the other way around.

Inhabitants

If you're in Eqexus, you'll run into mostly maiaaks. If you're in Ethlon, then you're surrounded by humans. However neither is strictly one or the other. Humans fall into the Eqexus, and maiaaks invade Ethlon all the same. And while they all have their own corresponding realms, Ves'pyr, Ferryn, Abyssal creatures and more all roam around among the living - be that Ethlon or Eqexus.
