Lasombra

The Night Clan, Shadows, Abyss Mystics, Traitors, Magisters.

The Lasombra are one of the fourteen vampiric clans. Expected by their own clan to triumph at any cost. They have more than earned their reputation for ruthlesness, betrayal and general cruelty. Most do not seek attention, not caring to display their power. The Magisters care first and foremost about the power itself, preffering to act as puppeteers, the power behind the proverbial throne. To a Shadow the ends justify any means.

The modern Lasombra are mainly split between those loyal to the Sabbat, and those migrating to the Camarilla, looking for the new winning team.

Embrace

The Lasombra seek out those that can beat the odds. Those that survive dangerous situations, dire odds, and succeed even as the odds are against them.
Some sires even go so far as to create adversity from the shadows, systematically breaking down their potential childer to see if they are as worthy as first believed.

Clan Disciplines

Dominate

Used to crush wills and command others. The Lasombra won't let something so fragile as a weak mind to stand in their way of dominance.

Oblivion

Children of the Abyss. They can use this discipline to manipulate shadows, or even enter the ever hungry Abyss itself to travel great expanses across the mortal plane. The especially cruel Lasombra even bring the entropy of the Abyss unto others to wither and decay their bodies.
The more occult inclined Magisters even perform elaborate Oblivion Ceremonies to bring greater versatility to this discipline.

Potence

When words or the discipline Dominate fails to assert their authority. The Magisters can crush their oppositions' bodies until they finally stand on top.

Bane

In reflections or recordings (live or not) the Lasombra appear to be distorted; those who know what vampires are know precisely what's going on, while others might be confused but know something is wrong. This does not, however, hide their identity with any certainty and they are not likely to be caught more often on surveillance than any other Kindred. In addition to this, modern technology which includes making a phone call requires a Technology test at Difficulty 2 + Bane Severity as microphones struggle with them as much as cameras. Avoiding any electronic vampire detection system is also done with a penalty equal to their Bane Severity.

Compulsion

Ruthlessness

The next time the vampire fails an action they receive a two-dice penalty to all rolls until a future attempt at the same action succeeds. This penalty applies to future attempts of the same action.
