Caitiff

Outcasts, Orphans, Freestylers, Trash, The Clanless.

Though the term typically reffers to an orphaned vampire who simply hasn't learned what clan they are yet. Sometimes the Caitiff is truly beholden to no lineage. Distrusted by their peers, they are scorned because of their lack of lineage but also feared for their unpredictability. Jacks of all trades but masters of none, each Orphan makes their own way in the society of the damned, free from ancestry and expectations both.

Caitiffs usually find their found-vampire-families amongst the Anarchs. As that sect usually sympathises with their underdog status.

Embrace

When a kindred from a clan tries to Embrace there is a small chance something goes wrong, either because of the nature of the embrace or a mutation of the Blood in their new childe. As such the only commonality amongst Caitiff Embraces is how they are either tossed aside by their sire, deeming them a failed Embrace. Or hiding their clanless nature, pretending to be of the clan of their sire.

Disciplines

Not a part of any clan lineage, they have access to all disciplines. However, as they have neither true in-clan or or out-of-clan disciplines, all disciplines cost 6 x Level experience points to purchase.

Bane

Outcast

Untouched by their ancestors, the Caitiff do not share a common Bane, and in a world hidden schemes, where every known fact is an advantage in these labyrinthine dramas, this makes the Caitiff a suspicious bunch. The character begins with the Flaw Suspect (•) and they may not purchase positive status during Character Creation. The Storyteller may impose a 1-2 dice penalty to social tests against Kindred who know they are Caitiff. To improve a Discipline, the cost is 6 times the level of experience points.

Compulsion

The Caitiff do not suffer clan specific compulsions.
