Anarchs

A loose conglomeration of vampires dissatisfied with the Camarilla's ironfisted rule. Their ideology various greatly, ranging from vampires should rule as equals in an anarchistic democracy, to vampires should rule by their own strength, a meritocracy of might-makes-right. The three things that unite all Anarchs is the desire for a merit-based society for vampires, where rulership is fluid and based on an individual vampire's own strength or charisma; the importance of the Masquerade. They do believe it is the best for vampiric survival, especially in the nights of the Second Inquisition; and finally a distaste if not outright hatred of the Camarilla. To an Anarch the Ivory Tower is nothing but a pyramid scheme. One they'll have no part in.

History

As a response to the Convention of Thorns,

and the establishment of the Camarilla. A large contingent of vampires formed the first sparks of the Anarch Revolt. Though the earliest Anarch revolutionaries evolved into the Sabbat, those that believed in the wisdom of the Masquerade, but still wanted nothing to do with the Camarilla's pyramid scheme would evolve into the modern Anarchs.

For centuries

the Anarchs fought for domains independent of the Camarilla's iron-fisted rule or the Sabbat's cult-like mentality of vampire supremacy (not to mention having to deal with their "rituals".)
Some domains have managed just this: the most famous / infamous being the Californian Free States, L. A. in particular. Most however have been in a constant contest with the Camarilla, whom until recent nights asserted their control over local Anarchs as though they were members of the Camarilla. Second-class-citizens members at that.

In modern nights

the Anarchs have anywhere from a tense relationship to all-out war with the Camarilla. As a direct result of the Convention of Prague. An attempt to mend animosities between the sects, as the Second Inquisition burned entire cities worth of Kindred to Final Death. However, the meeting soured, until the Anarch sympathetic Archon Theo Bell blew off the head of Ventrue elder and Camarilla hardliner Hardestadt with a sawn-off shotgun.

Structure

Baron

In the cases where an Anarch gains a leadership position, by vote from their community, by merit and necessity, or strong-arming themselves into a Prince-like position. This leader is called a Baron. Many Camarilla and ignorant fledgelings have equated a Baron to a Prince. Few have survived the beating said Baron and their followers gave them afterwards.

The Revolutionary Council

A fancy name for an Anarch faction's inner circle, or alliance between several factions' leadership.

Firebrand

Not an official position amongst the Anarchs, but common enough to be a recognized title. A Firebrand is a mixture between recruited, propaganda specialist and hype-person within the sect. Though it may not sound like much of a title, many a Camarilla domains have come to the horrifying realization that the local Anarchs' ranks have swelled to worrying proportions as a direct result of ignoring a Firebrand's rants.
