WE pledge 2022
Worldember is indeed coming.
Now this one I am familiar with, I started using the site a year ago or so, and WE was the first challenge I participated in. Hell, the Anakrionian Defense Fleet, still one of my most successful articles (well, the Wars of Control are also up there), was made for that. That WE didn't go too well. I'm a bit skeptical about this one too, but I do have some more ideas this time.
Week 1:
I'll be working on this setting, of course. I don't have a precise goal, but I do have some specific things I want to cover and articles I want to finish. Notably, all my drafts, especially the character ones, Mad's organization and WW5. There's also some new things I've come up with. Drafts
Jon
Tarno
Rexilis
Scintil
Nex
Anni
Mad's Organization
The Fifth World War
New stuff
Display methods (screenglass, holograms)
Cyclers
C-Chains
Something new on Ochtotne Prime, probably a nation or city-state.
and something more
Dragon's Hoard cluster
cybernetics, separate articles or in one
the Ochtotnian tradition of jewelry, sort of
Whether or not I can make it even to 10k is dubious, that's quite a bit, but you never know. Bonus points, school will also be in a bit of a lull anyway, plus christmas, plus Finland's independence day. It's not like SC2022 this time, when I was gone for half of it.
Week 2:
The meta's already filled in, I haven't changed it in a while for archival reasons. In terms of theme or something, no clue. Same as ever, something about humanity's potential and standard speculative fiction stuff. Honestly, I don't have any particular focus this time around, I'll just be making stuff for my world. So uh, yeah. This week's stuff was kind of... nothing. Sorry? week 3:
My articles are pretty well sorted. There are some unneccessary categories I could get rid of, but aside from that, not much. I'm not using tags. I'm not going to use tags, I don't like them, I don't think they're necessary here.
After the fact note: I have refined the categories, and there's now the major ones on the world homepage. A lot of this homework has just kind of been stuff I've done before. Ah well, who really cares, it's not the main event anyway. Week 4:
Ah, presentation and visuals. My greatest weakness. There aren't going to be too many images, as I prefer to make them myself and am both very critical of my stuff, and also very slow. But I'll try, mainly character pictures. I have Mad and Stringer finished, actually. They're not half bad, though far from great. Yeah, there'll be more of that. But another topic you may have noticed if you've read my stuff before; a new look. That's right, I got a Master membership, and shifted the world's theme to be noticably scifi. That brings me to another topic: CSS. In all honestly, CSS scares me. I am terrified to even go near it, let alone try to use it. I should try at some point, probably, but not yet. Don't expect much on that front. But yeah, that's that done. Good writings and so forth.
