Tashtor Sector

Located in the Mid Rim, Tashtor Sector actually occupies the area of galactic space known as the Western Regions.
The sector, and its various systems, carry a reputation as a haven for all manner of criminal enterprise and some level of lawlessness. Over the generations, many groups from the Jedi Order, the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, the Galactic Empire and others have tried. None managed any great level of success. But in the attempt, they each impacted the culture in their own way.
It took a slave revolt on the desert planet of Chalcedon which in turn gave rise to the Freedworlds Republic that provided some manner of stability in the region.
Despite the rough and tumble government of the Freedworlds, many pirate clans are found in the sector. Most notable are the Dawnfall Corsairs, Bloodsmith Raiders and the infamous Nightsister Raiders.
Despite the risk, many Free Traders still cross the sector as the Great Gran Run hyperspace trade route runs through this sector.

Geography

This sector is known for unusual spacial anomalies, from cluster comets to orbiting ion storms. One of the most unusual is what the locals dubbed the Hyperspace Vent which remains in a stationary orbit around the planet Chalcedon.
