The Wasteland
The Wasteland of Thedroth is filled with monsters and machines, and dirt. Lots of dirt.
It is home to the nomadic people, the Vanished, who are always wearing gas masks to protect themselves from the toxic clouds of gas that float around in the air.
Over the years, mechs have been sent out by the colonies to scout the wasteland. Most of these mechs have been destroyed by monsters or the Vanished. Pieces of the mechs can be found all over the wasteland.
The wind blows dirt over the wreckage, burying it. The corpses of scouts and broken mechs resurface all the time, often filled with dust and dirt. Many creatures and plants thrive in the wasteland. Some of which are flying whales, deer-like creatures, and large, sharp-clawed, four-legged beasts, nicknamed Chompers.
As for the flora, there are groups of large tree-like plants, that generate clouds of toxic gas, but also produce water that is safe to drink. The green clouds of toxic gas drift around the surface of the planet, rarely going in the air high enough to risk the lives of people living on the tops of the plateaus.
The gas is thick, you can't see far into it. The Chompers often hide in the gas and ambush unsuspecting prey. Large pools of green acid-like liquid are scattered throughout the wasteland. The acid-like liquid can be used for welding or melting things together. A large pit sits in the middle of nowhere, far away from anything interesting. It is the birthplace of the whales. At the bottom is clay, and iron. The wasteland has a lot of stone and raw ore a bit below the surface. Even further below the surface, clay can be found. No one is sure how exactly it got there, but it is there.
