The Vanished

The Vanished are the descendants of a group of deserters, from the colony ship that crash-landed on Thedroth. All of them wear cloaks or robes, gas masks, and goggles. All of the adult men wear armor under their cloak.
The Vanished have a hierarchy. The Father, the Prophets, the Hunters, and the Flock.
The Father, is Father Sige, one of the original dudes in the group that deserted the colony. He is immortal, due to an interaction with a god, whose name is only known to Father Sige. The god gave Sige a staff made of metal and bone, that is capable of levitating and manipulating metal, rock, salt, and any other mineral.
The Prophets govern the tribe, and when there is a big issue, they report to the Father. They can see a few days into the future. They believe that this is a small gift from their god.
The Hunters are anyone who can prove their worth. They are members of the Flock who pass multiple tests related to combat, survival, and loyalty to their god.
The Flock, for the most part, are women, children, and everyone else who is unable to pass the tests to become Hunters. Members of the Flock are the most important part of the tribe. They, along with the hunters, take care of food preparation, tearing down camp, building things.   The Father often takes two Prophets, and three Hunters, to go hunting, and to complete the missions given to them by their god, which often involves going through piles of scrap.   The Vanished worship a god, who can manipulate minerals. Father Sige and the god, are close. The god communicates with Sige, and granted him immortality, as long as Father Sige obeys the god's commands. It has commanded Sige to find keys, to open an ancient gate, built by gods. Father Sige has not been told what is behind the gate, but whatever it is, is important to the god that the Vanished follow.   The men, regardless of their position in the hierarchy, are obligated to risk their lives and defend the tribe when the tribe is in danger.
