Vizum

Vizum is a holy city located in Banpour, said to be the home of The Lord of the Sun and the nearest place in Solace to Lower Heaven. It is built on the northern pool of The Spotted Oasis, making it a necessary stop for travelers between Putee Hill and The City of Banpour. It's proximity to Lower Heaven and the intense and constant brightness of the Lord's Sun make it very arid, meaning that outside of short stays, only the most pious of the Banpouri choose to live there. Because the Lord's Sun has overwhelmed Mother Earth's protection, humans brave enough to venture into the Sun Temple must exercise extreme caution. Mere minutes of exposure to his radiance will overload magical wards and hours of exposure will kill.

History

Vizum was the first city built by humans in the Tizac Desert, and was originally meant to be the new capital and religious center of the nation. This decision was reversed when the Lord's Sun descended upon the city, making it much more difficult to inhabit, resulting in The City of Banpour remaining the capital of the desert. Vizum remains today as a holy site, with each Banpouri citizen expected to make a pilgimage to the Sun Temple at least once in their lifetime.
