New Years Resolutions 2024 in Slumbering Gods | World Anvil

New Years Resolutions 2024

Well, another year has past and so much has happened! (In all honesty, I probably forgot about half of it). But no matter! This year and this World Ember there were hundreds, probably thousands of articles written. All of them wonderful, special, and full of inspiration. These are just ten of them.

The Articles

First is Sandfishes by Frod0_baggins . It short funny, little article about these rather strange creatures.   Second is a three in one. It's the three articles by TheDumbOwl. . They're funny, well written, and the artwork is clearly done by a modern day da Vinci. But this one is my favorite SANT It's Santa Claus, but not Santa Clause, because Santa Clause is not a stalker or this random creepy guy that breaks into houses once a night. Probably.   Third is Pixie Wanderlust by Absinthe . A quick, yet fascinating article that involves the consequences of magic.   Fourth, Apapi by LeeStepp All of Lee's species articles have come a long way. This one, however, I wanted to acknowledge, because of the neat and conscise information, but also the fun spoilers about the magic which really helps integrate the animal into the world.   Fifth, Curt Vagner by Jack Boon Curt Vagner is an interesting and complex character full of fascinating surprises.   Sixth is Shrine of Creation by AsterVela Shrine of Creation is a beautifully organized article. It's simple and easy to read, and the links lead you down a rabbit hole into this wonderfully created world.   Seventh is The War of the Wayfarers by GoldenPants1 The writer creates a sad tale about a war amongst the gods. It has good prose and an ending that leaves you wanting to know more.   The eighth article, Deep's Draw by The Big G , is actually rather serious. This article gives a magical depiction of depression in Big G's world. Personally, I think the writer succeeds.   The ninth article In the Eyes of the Mystic by Wulvenfire is a fascinating start into this fabulous world.   Last, but not least is Thræsh's Hold by Ninodonlord . It's mysterious and full of ghost story potential, what's not to like? The writing is excellent and makes me want to step into this world, and uncover all its secrets.

Resolutions

I have two main writing resolutions. (I have a few non-writing resolutions which is why the list won't be very long this year.)   My first resolution is to write 500,000-550,000 words. It can be either stories or worldbuiding. (I will count be counting both.) I'm kind of tired of writing on-and-off, I'm doing this to force be to write continually and not just write when a competition comes up. Hopefully those numbers aren't too high.   My second resolution will be to focus on my Offenders Neighborhood Novel. It's been in the works for some time, and I'm trying to get it into a publishable form. Hopefully, the first chapter will be up soon. (Keep in mind if you kindly do choose to read it, it'll most likely be updated and revised later on in the year.)   So, those are my two writing resolutions for this year. I do want to save up and maybe get an Eternal Grandmasters Tier, but we'll see what it's like to go back to a Freemen once my Grandmastership is up. (If I really miss it, I might just go for it.)   And those are the hopes and dreams of Jacqueline Yang for 2024. I wish the rest of you a great year, and good luck on your own resolutions.   Best wishes to you in world building!

Thanks for including my primer adventure! I'm happy to see people are enjoying it even though it still needs a bit of fleshing out. And wow! 500k words this year! That's a lot! I wish you luck, and don't let yourself burn out!

Thanks for highlighting my article! Thanks also for the tips on improving it. Now that I'm done with my resolutions article I can work on writing up those extra quotes you suggested.   Good luck in your writing journey this year. I wish you joy in it!
