There is of course harsh punisment for those within power abusing their power as well, so their are few cases of abuses of power occuring within the Holy Ambrion Empire, however, it is something that has and will continue to happen. But if caught abusing the power given to you, you could be punished even more than a simple criminal.
Structure
The king of the Holy Ambrion Empire is considered to be a king given his power through divine intervention. He or she is considered to have the divine right of kings and within the Holy Ambrion Empire is also considered to be godly as well themselves and is sometimes even worshipped as a god amongst men within the Holy Ambrion Empire.
The monarch of this faction also has complete control entirely of his or her faction and there is no one above them within the faction itself. Although the faction's monarch is considered to be godly and have their power as a monarch bestowed to them by the divine, there is no official religion within the Holy Ambrion Empire or even a religion taken up by a monarch for centuries. The monarch simply is considered to have power given to them from divinity, be that a single god or many, it is never specified.
It is not a requirement to worship the king of the Holy Ambrion Empire, but there are those that do. The Holy Ambrion Empire itself does not have any form of religious persecution so people are allowed to practice whatever they see fit to practice in terms of religion or lack there of as long as those practices to not break any other law. However, it is enforced that citizens or those within the Holy Ambrion Empire at the time are not allowed to speak out in oppostition to the monarch or the Holy Ambrion Empire in any manner. Freedom of speach is heavily regulated in this regard when concerning the monarch or the Holy Ambrion Empire as a whole.
Those that would speak out against the monarch or the Holy Ambrion Empire are either fined, arrested, or even killed. Sometimes you may even be sold into slavery to the The Slaver's Federation as punishment as well. The Holy Ambrion Empire is the only faction that sells people into slavery as a punishment or otherwise. The only one who can sentence someone into slavery as a punishment are those given that right by the monarch or the monarch themselves.
Culture
The Holy Ambrion Empire is, at it's core, a conquering and warlike faction. They seek to gain as much territory that is possible through either negotiation or force, force being their primary tactic as the Holy Ambrion Empire has generally deemed it to be the most effective for their purposes. At the present time they are not engaging in war with any other faction or the Scavenger Faction's systems, however, they are constantly ammassing forces, growing their military, and seeking to gain more power for who knows what reason.
They also use many of the Anomalies found in the Uncharted Sector by their scout ships in order to use as weapons within their military.
The Holy Ambrion Empire considers itself to be an overall peace loving faction as it states that it protects and maintains order and law within it's borders, and in a way it does. The Holy Ambrion Empire is definitely a faction where crimes are not as prevalent, but this is also due to the strict laws and even harsher punishments of the faction. The Holy Ambrion Empire ruler seems to not see it that way however and is in the mindset of peace and order at any means necessarry.
The Holy Ambrion Empire are against slavery as a whole however and do not allow slavery to exist in any form within its borders and even seeks out to destroy slavery as a whole. The punishment is merely a way of showing that the Holy Ambrion Empire and the monarch are willing to use any means necessary in order to maintain the rule of law within the Holy Ambrion Empire.
Foreign Relations
The HGE are in best terms with the The Galactic Republic as they are happy to do business with the The Galactic Republic in order to gain scientific knowledge. Many times there are also The Galactic Republic scientists who will live within the HGE for a time to research Anomalies that have been found and be paid, sometimes more than they would have been within the The Galactic Republic itself.
The HGE are on worse terms morally with the The Slaver's Federation as the HGE does not condone slavery in any way and is actively against it, however, it does keep it's forces from invading as the The Slaver's Federation is a valuable trading partner and the The Slaver's Federation has many resources and wealth that can be more easily gained from commerce rather than war. The Slaver's Federation also gives the HGE another way of enforcing it's laws by selling criminals into slavery.
The The United Mercenary Coalition is not necesarrily looked down on morally, but they do not interact much with them as the HGE is not concerned with buying Mercs or using their services as the HGE would rather have fully trained and loyal soldiers.
Trade & Transport
In terms of commerce, the HGE does indeed have merchants and businessmen within it's borders and many from other factions have been to the HGE for a variety of reasons, some being merchantile indeavors, and some being simply to enlist in the military. The business and commerce world of the HGE is however heavily regualted and many times taxed quite hard as well in order to allow the HGE to maintain its massive money requirements for running it's military and other governmental endeavors.
