Praetorian Guard
The Praetorian Guards are the guards of the King/Queen of the Holy Ambrion Empire. They are exceptionally well trained and are proficient in a variety of weapons, languages, martial arts, diplomacy, and more.
They are not only guards for the king, but are also his eyes and ears in various locations of the Empire. They have similar powers to the king himself and can negotiate treaties, enforce laws, and even strip others in the empire of their powers. One of the few people in the Empire that outrank these special few are the king's children and whoever he/she is married to.
The Praetorian Guards act less like traditional guards and more like knights or ambassadors for the ruler of Ambrion. They are the ones who take command of battlefields when necessary while also watching over the empire in the king's absence as he cannot be everywhere at the same time. The Praetorian Guards also are considered nobility and lords within the HAE with titles only outclassed by very few.
Qualifications
The qualifications to become a Praetorian Guard is to be one of the greatest warriors within the entire Holy Ambrion Empire as well as extremely intelligent and knowledgeable of The Empire's laws, rules, and tradtions.
The Praetorian Guards also must be completely and utterly loyal to the King/Queen of HAE and will obey any order or command from the ruler without hesitation or question.
Requirements
There is no requirement other than the King/Queen of the Holy Ambrion Empire appointing a person as a Praetorian Guard. However, in most circumstances, a Praetorian Guard will take on a student to train and teach in the ways of the Praetorian Guards in order to be ready for the appointment by the king.
Duties
The duties of the Praetorian Guard is to keep peace and order within the Holy Ambrion Empire by using the rank and power that they hold. They have much autonomy within the HAE but must use these powers in order to bring about the will of the King/Queen of the HAE.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
This is a rare occurence among the Praetorian Guard. However, if a Praetorian Guard were to disobey a direct order from the King/Queen or use their power within the Holy Ambrion Empire in a way that is considered not consistent with the will of the King/Queen then they will be stripped of their rank and power. Often this ends in that Praetorian Guard's death, but sometimes, depending on their previous actions they will simply be exiled from the HAE.
