Fumayan Temple of Phidas
The Fumayan Temple of Phidas is the Fumayan Masks main representative temple in the Nonagon Plaza of King's Lake, Fumaya's capital city.
Architecture
The temple was built to flex the Mask's power and wealth though it is limited by the fact that the Fumayan Masks are hardly the richest Masks in Scarterra.
It incorporates bronze statuary, carved friezes and a marble exterior. Visitors and worshipers rarely get to see any part of the temple other than antechamber and the sanctuary. Outside these two rooms, the interior of the temple is much less fancy than the exterior.
Some have joked that the temple itself is a metaphor for the Masks and the literal masks they wear because the whole temple is focused on its outer appearance.
History
The Fumayan Temple of Phidas was built when King Ziven Linijika II, the Wise decreed that he wanted all nine of the Nine to have a temple in the Nonagon Plaza along with a large monetary donation for anyone that got on board with this.
The Fumayan Masks signed up though they deliberately dragged their feet on constructing the physical temple until they had a good idea of what the other eight temples were going to look like. Once they knew what the other temples would look like, the Masks spared no expense to make sure their temple was the grandest looking, but not too much better.
Eventually, their temple was overtaken in size and grandeur by the Grand Khemra Temple of Fumaya, but by that point the Fumayan Masks already had built the Tapukeah Casmir Memorial Temple elsewhere and did not feel compelled to expand their temple in King's Lake just to flex.
The King's Lake temple leans towards politics and the Ivanna City temple leans towards economics but of course with the Masks, politics and economics are tightly intertwined.
Sometimes the Tapukeah Casmir Memorial Temple is the political center of the Fumayan Masks and sometimes Fumayan Temple of Phidas in King's Lake is the political center. It largely depends on where the highest ranking priest or priestess of Phidas wants to set up shop.
Currently, Danuta is the ranking Mask in Fumaya and she spends most of her time in King's Lake. All the better to better liason with the other Nonagon leaders. It helps that the current woes afflicting Fumaya have caused Fumaya's Nonagon to unite more than ever before.
