Session VIII: Good, no one wants to kill us. So ...what do we do now? Report

General Summary

• Shopping episode!
• NCN awoke in the bowels of the Orb dungeon, bade farewell to Tokar, and set out to return to Alderweld.
• On leaving they noted that the snow melt had continued at a rapid pace, and the entrance they had used was now underwater. But it posed little difficulties and they were soon walking through springtime Susmis Swamps. It should be noted that spring in the Black Mire is still really soggy and gross.
• Along the way NCN saw an alligator eating a beaver, and a creepy ...lady? with pale skin and bright red lips. So you know, the usual.
• After arriving back at town, the group quickly met up with Paxton, dropped off the now disgusting Ankheg head (well, tried to, they were rebuffed) and went to regroup at The Early Fox Tavern.
• The party split! Anguish took the Ankheg head first to the HammerDown, but as the blacksmiths there wanted 50GP just to come up with a quote he quickly found himself in the "more affordable" Damp Coal.  The dwarven blacksmith that ran the smithy, one Magnus Uhlrekson promised he'd try his best to come up with something for the price of 150GP.  An additional deal was struck for 30GP to take Ang's longword, and reforge it with his broken shortsword to create ...two shortswords.
• Tully and Riya revisited The Affordable Spoon, and were able to get Oswalt to both identify some objects for them, as well as sell and buy to their hearts content.  A potion of firebreath was dug up from the refuse that filled the store, and acquired.
• After regrouping, the party agree to head on toward Isenwold, and tentatively agreed to begin looking for Riya's missing family.
