Ignis Aeterna

Geography

This great desert lies in the northern part of Teran and seperates the North Star from the rest of Teran. On its southern border are the Simerian Grasslands and the Trunian Borderlands.
It is one of Teran's biggest regions with a size over 10 million km2 and is mostly uncharted. Currently there are only two charted routes into the desert and both lead to the city-state Trakaris. From there is another route that leads to Krucifax in North Star. Smaller parts around Trakaris and the southern border are currently being explored and there were many old ruins found beneath the sands.
Most of the desert is vomposed of endless sands that lay often up to 100 meters high above the massive sandstone foundations beneath it. There are various natural formations like sandstone pillars and canyons that sometimes vary the surroundings but one can walk for days and weeks before encountering them.
