In the year 7402 an imperial caravan full of adventures, aspiring explorers and hopeful merchants entered the deadly Ignis Aeterna for the biggest expedition in recent history. For over a decade, no one outside the desert heard anything from them and thus imperial officials prepared to announce the whole caravan as lost to the flow of time, when suddenly a small group found their way to an imperial outpost at the outer regions of the desert. They were defectors of the original expedition who stayed true to the Empire; The rest of the expedition had found a habitable spot deep in the desert and decided to forsake the Empire and found their own nation. Soon after the return of the defectors, the Empire decided to train a special desert corps to reclaim what they thought was theirs.Half a decade later, 7416, the corps finished preparations and embarked together with the returnees as guides into the desert. When the imperial corps arrived in pre-Trakaris, the defectors nearly immediately surrendered to the terms of the Empire. In the next years, the Empire helped to built up Trakaris and on the last day of Septal in the year 7429, Trakaris was officially founded. Due to difficulties in administration they were granted conditional independence according to the Imperial Decree of Trakarian Autonomy and since then developed into a trade partner for exotic goods.
