Krucifax Council
Foundation
When Krucifax was started to be built in the year 1613, the leading peronalitites in the settlers also began to discuss how to govern the new village they are building. Over the next year they settled on this council to rule the village and held the first-ever trakarian election to appoint the first members. This formation was heavily influenced by imperial officials who wanted to push Krucifax away from trakarian control. Another major contribution was made by the Dark Elf Ushi T'lam who gave some insight into the government of her own people.
Sessions
A regular council session is held every last quat of each month. Usually the session only lasts a day but they can be extended up to a week if there is no consensus on a proposal
Seats
The council has seven seats to prevent ties in major votes. These seats are given for lifetime but can be taken away by a vote in the council: Any member can try to start a no-confidence vote if they have the support of to other members. In the catual voting the major takes the place of the seventh member and if five members are in favour the vote is passed. A member who fails in succeding such a proposal can't propose another for a whole decade. A kick from the council also means a lifelong ban on any official position in Krucifax. Resigning from the council out of free will does not trigger this ban.
In the case of an empty seat in the council, the responsibilities are temporaliy assigned to the major and an election is prepared. Candidates have one month to collect votes and then there is an election where every citizen of Krucifax can participate.
Although the major is seen as the chairman of the council he does not take part in council votes and also does not have to participate in sessions. On the other hand any proposal of the council needs the confirmation of the major before it is valid. Every seat is in charge of one particular part of the Kurcifax government:
