H`piew la tras

Geography

Near the north-western wastes of the Ignis Aeterna lies the grand volcano H´piew la tras. With a height of over four kilometres it towers over the surrounding dunes and its occasional eruption turn its vicinity into a strange mix of lava, glass and obsidian. Smaller vents surrounding the main mountain create several lava lakes that are sometimes also connected with rivers to the main crater. Due to recent inactivity many of these lakes are covered by a thin stone layer.
Some eruptions from the volcano end up in the nearby ocean creating sandbanks and sometimes even small islands. These islands also often disapear in the waves resulting in an everchanging view from the coast.

Wildlife

A constant high temperature results in inhospitality for most species besides small extremist ones like magmaworms or lavawalkers.

Resources

Besides the standard byproducts of lava, there are also several rare gems inside the volcano, that are sometimes even spread out by an eruption. Deep in the magma sea inside the main crater, there are also several rare and precious minerals including raw mithril ore and major parts for the omnitas stone composition.

Recent activity

During the last century there were only smaller eruptions that couldnt even be seen from the nearest city. The last great eruption was 5071 years ago during the massive earthquack that created Zara'sh Hal and split the North Star from the main continent]. All over the great desert one can still find ash and basalt when digging a few metres deep and the eruption was massive enough that one can find proof of it undergound nearly everywhere in Teran.
