Peas Treaty of the Mushroom Wars

This treaty between The Mushroom Kingdom and The Pea Kingdom marks the end of the 500-year long Mushroom Wars.

Purpose

The treaty was designed by the wise Witch Baboushka to create a lasting peace (or peas, as the Tzar likes to call it), between the warring kingdoms of the Mushrooms and the Peas.

Historical Details

Background

The document was created at the Peas Summit of the Mushroom Wars.

Legacy

The treaty states that both kingdoms can share the Valley. Since Peas require more sunlight and a stalk to climb, while Mushrooms need shade and damp, the treaty states that the The Pea Kingdom will take the high territory and make their kingdom in the branches of the Spruce Tree, while the The Mushroom Kingdom will make their kingdom in the roots of the same.   The treaty lasts because by its nature neither side has a clear advantage. Although the Pea Kingdom has the high ground, the Mushroom Kingdom is closer to the roots that supply nutrients to the tree and both kingdoms. By placing them in the care of the Spruce Tree, the shrewd Baboushka has ensured that a far more powerful, benevolent creature will always look out for both Kingdoms, so they should never go to war again.
"To the peas: the stock, the light and the high-ground;
The mushrooms get shade, and the damp and the roots."
